“The Girls of Kabul” – A photography project

Afghan women stare at us in Reto Albertalli’s portraits, part of his photography project which illustrates both an existential and a social condition.

On Reto Albertalli’s official website, you can see a few portraits alongside of photographs depicting non-places and non-moments, as the author defines them.

Barely hinted smiles, glances, glimpses of melancholy we would like to understand and decrypt, to offer a solution, a possibility.
To subtract them from the tragic condition of hostages in a prison-country ruled by men in war.
